How to Enable Translation on Telegram

Here are the steps for both Android users and iPhone users to enable the message translation feature:

On Android

Open the Telegram app on your Android phone.

Tap on the hamburger menu or three vertical lines in the top-left corner.

Tap “Settings” in the menu that appears.

Scroll down a bit and tap on “Language.”

Turn on the toggle switch right next to the “Show Translate Button.”

The “Do Not Translate” option will appear once the toggle switch is turned on. You can add the language you don’t want to translate to this option.

On iPhone

Open the Telegram app on your iPhone.

Tap on “Settings” in the bottom-right corner.

Tap on “Language.”

Turn on the toggle switch right next to the “Show Translate Button.”

How to Use Translation on Telegram

Here’s the process to use on both Android and iPhone:

On Android

Open chat conversation.

Tap the message you want to translate.

Tap on “Translate” in the option that appears.

After tapping, you can see the translated message in the popup.

On iPhone

Open chat conversation.

Tap and hold the message you want to translate.

Tap on “Translate” in the option that appears.

Now you can see the translated message. You can copy the translated message by tapping on Copy Translation. And also you can change the detected and translation language by tapping on Change Language.

Note: Telegram uses Google Translate to translate your message. So be aware that Google may have access to the message you translate.
