How to Change Twitter Username or Handle

Sometimes you think that your Twitter username or handle is not perfect for your Twitter account and you want to change it as per your wish.

Fortunately, Twitter allows user to change their username or handle. And there is no limit to changing your username. You can change it as many times as you want.

How to Change Twitter Username Using Desktop

You can easily change your Twitter handle using the Twitter web app on your Windows, Linux, Mac, or Chromebook computer.

Twitter only accepts usernames that are available and must be 15 characters or less and contain only letters, numbers, and underscores — no spaces. So your username should be acetable.

To change your username, follow the steps below:

Go to the Twitter web page and sign in with your account credentials.

Click “More” from the options on the left sidebar.

Click on “Settings and privacy” from the options that appear.

Click on “Your account.”

Click on “Account information.”

Enter your Twitter account password in the box and click the “Confirm” button at the bottom left.

Click on “Username.”

Update your username in the Username field. If your username is not available, you will see the message “That username has been taken. Please choose another.”

And when your username is available, that message will disappear. When you’re satisfied with your new username, click the “Save” button at the bottom left.

How to Change Twitter Username Using Mobile

You can also change your username using the Twitter mobile app on your Android phone or iPhone. Follow the below steps to change or update:

Open the Twitter app on your mobile device.

Tap on your profile picture in the upper-left corner.

Tap on “Settings and privacy” from the menu that appears.

Tap on “Your account.”

Tap on “Account information.”

Tap on “Username.”

Enter your new username and a green checkmark will appear next to the username when your username is available. When you’re satisfied with your new username, tap the “Done” button in the bottom left.
